Here’s a bunch of wooden canvases I’ve prepared for painting. It takes a few hours just to get to this stage, and my chop saw can be a little temperamental at times!

Apologies for not posting in a while – I had an art show in Cookeville, TN last weekend, but the turn-out wasn’t so great (mostly because it’s been really cold here for late April.) Anyway, above is an old favorite I’ve painted several times. (Oh, and you can order prints here!)
I’ll be selling my wares at the Live In Livingston show next weekend (May 4th). If you can’t come out, you can always order from me directly!

Spring is finally here in The Sticks of Tennessee, and I’m getting ready for art fair season! Here’s some oil pastel drawings I did this week, freshly sealed and drying in the sun while my pet hen and rooster hang out in the shade. I have two shows in the coming month, so I’ve got to get busy and stop procrastinating so much.

I’m a bit slow on posting this week because of my other work. So, in celebration of the Easter Bunny coming this weekend, here’s a small watercolor and ink sketch I did in March of 2011 entitled “A Rabbit-Plant In A Field of Mailboxes Growing Towards The Carrot-Shaped Sun.” The idea was an based on an analogy I thought of – that the sun is to plants as carrots are to rabbits. I don’t know what the mailboxes are supposed to mean, but I’ve always liked drawing them. (Plus a lot of my family works for the post office.) I’d like to re-do this one as a gigantic painting.
That’s it… Happy Easter!

“Utini!” (That’s basically Jawaese for “Hey!”) I don’t typically draw other people’s characters, but I drew this last night for a card my wife was sending to a friend.
See more of my art on my website.

“Bad Dog!” (Or perhaps good, depending on your moral outlook.) I’ve painted this a few times in different styles, but this is my favorite version – it’s from 2010. I gave away the original as a gift, but prints are available here – support me! Sorry for the shameless promotion, but I make my living entirely as a self-employed/freelance artist.
Is there anything you’d like to see on here? I do commissions and my prices are cheap.
“Coffee and Tea.” This is an older painting of mine, but I just posted prints of this on FineArtAmerica – please check it out and support your new favorite kinda-starving artist – me!
Does anyone actually read my blog, or is it just bots?

As promised, here’s a much-truer-to-life photo of “The Visitor.” It measures 9 x 15″ and it’s drawn in oil pastels. Prints are available in my Fine Art America store! Click here to get one!
